Crushers are machines used to reduce the size of rocks, stones and ore. They are often utilised in aggregate production, construction material recycling and in mining operations.

Crushers are used to reduce the size, or change the form, of waste materials so they can be more easily disposed of or recycled, or to reduce the size of a solid mix of raw materials (as in rock ore) so that pieces of different composition can be differentiated.
They are classified as jaw, gyratory, and cone crushers based on compression, cutter mill based on shear, and hammer crusher based on impact.
